Back-to-Back Champions! Christchurch Retains the Cousins Shield on Home Turf

History has repeated itself in the best possible way! In 2025, the Christchurch Squash Rackets Club etched its name onto the prestigious Cousins Shield for the very first time. Fast forward to 2026, and our men’s team has proven that victory was no fluke by defending the title and going back-to-back as national champions on home soil!

Hosting the 2026 tournament from 29 to 31 May brought top-tier squash and an unbeatable energy to our club. Facing off against a stacked 20-team field in the Cousins Shield draw, our players put on a masterclass of skill, grit, and determination throughout three days of intense competition. Securing the title again, this time surrounded by our home crowd, makes this accomplishment unforgettable.

Total Club Effort: Beyond the victory on court, our club shined as hosts, supported by 39 dedicated volunteers who kept tournament operations running seamlessly from start to finish.
