Congratulations to the following Christchurch teams that won the district eliminations finals and now will represent Canterbury at the National Super Champs finals.

Quiz Fundraiser

The Quiz was a great success with a total of 18 teams competing. It was great to see members socializing away from squash and meeting other members and their partners.

The club raised $2000 on the night mainly due to the auction items.

I want to thank Ed Post, Jason Dellaca (Brandhouse) Tim Matthews (Cookie Time) and Scott Gardiner (British Food Imports) for donating silent auction items.

I also want to thank Iwi Athletica Clothing owner and club member Aaron Jackson who donated a Paul Coll replica shirt that was auctioned off on the night.

The auction for the shirt started off very strong with Antony Liken opening the bidding at $250 before dropping out at $350. Craig Anderson then stepped in bidding his way to securing the shirt for $500. All I can say is that Craig’s private education at Christ’s College didn’t really pay off as he was out bidding himself at the end. Amazing what a few wines can do.

The club has decided due to the success of the Quiz this will be an ongoing annual event.

Club Days

Club days have been getting a good turnout which is great to see. Club days are designed for members to have a social hit and get to know other club members.

Club days are Wednesday from 7pm and Saturdays from 3pm, just turn up on the day.

Solo Bookings

The solo training option is for solo training only. Some members are using this to double book courts or bringing in non-members and not paying the visitors fees.

Can you ensure you click ‘visitor’ when playing a non-member and pay the visitors fee on-line.
